Director Chad Stahelski had a lot to say about a potential John Wick sequel during his discussion on an episode of Happy Sad Confused (thanks,Screenrant). He believes that there needs to be a good reason for returning to the role. Here’s what he said:
“I don’t see any reason for John Wick to come back without a real reason. Like the reason has to — don’t let you off the hook — it has to draw people back. Because I think most of the audience would love to see Keanu come back, They just don’t want to be treated like idiots.
We at Gamereactor obviously love John Wick, and it would be exciting to see a great fifth film and a reason to return.Another director named Antoine Fuqua (of The Equalizer 3 fame) spoke highly of John Wick’s partnership withCBRpotential crossover. He said:
“It’s an interesting question. I think John Wick will be interesting. They’re very different. If McCall needs some weapons or guns, I’ll let John do that. When it comes to close range brutality, let McCall to deal with. They are very different.
There are many opinions in the film industry about what the brand should do. With a TV spin-off on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether we’ll see something new in the film world. Seeing John Wick in an alternate cinematic universe isn’t a bad idea. It will address current issues that justify the character’s return. How would you like to see John Wick return?
