Thousands of families in the state of Texas are going to get paid just for the month of September. The deposit will go to the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program.
As is known, this program provides financial support to children and their parents or relatives who live with them. Monthly cash payments allow you to buy food, clothing, housing, furniture, utilities and much more.
The amount of money you receive will depend on the size of each participating family and their income. Here we tell you which families are eligible to receive TANF in Texas.
Eligibility requirements
According to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) website, the TANF Program is aimed at families with children up to 18 years of age. These are the requirements that families must meet in order to qualify for that financial support.
– Get training for work or look for work.
– Compliance with child support regulations.
– Don’t leave your job.
– Do not consume alcohol or drugs.
– Take a parenting education course.
– Get the necessary vaccinations for your child.
– Make sure your child goes to school.
To receive the monthly TANF payment, for 12-36 months, adults must enroll in the program. As of June 1, the Health and Human Services Commission began interviews for people who renew or apply for TANF.
You can also apply for TANF online through the website YourTexasBenefits.com. Additionally, you have the option to apply by visiting the HHSC benefits office.
