Diputación shows the undoubted attraction of the navigable French Way of Santiago | Radio Palencia

The Provincial Council of Palencia, taking advantage of the celebration of 2021 as a Jacobean year, has today shown the public of the Madrid International Tourism Fair (2021 FEATURES) the only navigable section of the Camino de Santiago Frances. A resource that runs parallel to Castile Canal between the town of Frómista and the municipal term of Boadilla del Camino, and that is completed with a wide tourist offer linked to this Jacobean route as it passes through the province of Palencia.

It is intended that this landmark framed within this pilgrimage route is a point of reference not only for the pilgrim, but also for the tourist visiting the province. A visitor who can also become a pilgrim for a short period of time, at a crossroads such as Frómista, the meeting point between faith and reason.

A presentation that has had the collaboration of the actor Antonio Resines, who will carry out in the coming weeks the recording of an audiovisual work on that crossroads that represents the Camino Frances de Santiago and the Canal de Castilla as it passes through Palencia. A work that will show, in addition to this Jacobean route, all the cultural, heritage, gastronomic and natural possibilities that the province has.

During his presentation, Armisén has given way to a promotional video of the Camino de Santiago, under the slogan “Write your way #DestinoPalencia” that aims to discover the Camino in its most personal aspect, what can be lived, breathed and felt. Emotions, landscapes, people, monuments, blue skies and sunsets; with the aim of inviting the visitor to “write their way to Santiago, their lived experience around this place”. A “commitment to the digitization of tourism and the viralization of the world’s first social network, the Camino de Santiago.”

A video that aims to catch the pilgrim and invite him to participate in the Palencia brand, endorsing the ability to promote the journey through his experiences. A prelude to an editorial work that the Provincial Institution is carrying out around the Camino de Santiago Frances through a travel guide.

With this video, Antonio Resines has also been invited to begin that inner journey in Palencia and to carry out, as the audiovisual invites, that transmission of experiences and sensations that leave a mark after enjoying this stretch of the Jacobean route; a stretch loaded with heritage, legend, nature, gastronomy and hospitality.

During the development of the fair, Palencia will be shown as a safe destination, full of leisure possibilities and in which multiple experiences can be lived, as well as with tourist resources and services adapted to the current situation. Cultural tourism; from nature; Rural; a perfect inland destination to enjoy with friends and ideal for families, as evidenced by the fact that Palencia was the first province to receive the Family Tourism Seal at Fitur 2019.
