GARUT, suaramerdeka.com – The Garut Regency Government through the Garut Regency Health Office (Dinkes), plans to carry out mass immunization.
This was conveyed by the Education Office, Ministry of Religion, DPMD, and the Office of Communication and Informatics Nurdin Yana when holding a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) regarding Diphtheria Disease Extraordinary Events (KLB), in the Garut Office of Health Office Meeting Room, Jalan Proklamasi, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency , Thursday 23 February 2023.
Nurdin hopes that with the cooperation of various parties and the implementation of the vaccination which will be carried out on Monday 27 February 2023, some residents who have been exposed to diphtheria can recover.

In addition, Nurdin instructed the Regional Work Units (SKPD) to jointly work together in overcoming diphtheria in accordance with their duties and functions.
“I have instructed a number of things related to the functionality of each SKPD, there is a BPBD of course according to its function I ask for it, then DPMD, then Disdik, Social Service, with Diskominfo, all of them I ask all to demolish all of this, so that disease We can overcome the diphtheria that (attacks),” Nurdin said as quoted from the Garut Regency Government website.
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Garut Health Office, dr. Leli Yuliani, said that she would make several efforts to overcome diphtheria.

“Following up on the spread of diphtheria in Garut Regency, his party will carry out ORI or outbreak response immunization, namely mass immunization activities for the community,” said Leli.
He also explained that his party had handled it.
Starting from early detection for those with symptoms such as diphtheria, then outreach to all health facilities to be able to carry out early detection of diphtheria.

To carry out screening of people who have close contact with people who are positive for diphtheria.
“Then we also make referrals for those who are positive with symptoms, and then we also provide prophylaxis for those who are in close contact like that, and also indeed there are those who are at home who are in independent isolation who are asymptomatic, yes adults are indeed given prophylaxis, but indeed he is must self-isolate, and then we also plan to carry out immunizations, yes for 15 years and under,” he explained.
Until now, added dr. Leli, there are 7 people who have been confirmed positive, of which 5 of them have been hospitalized.
