With 18 shortlisted, the team led by Daniel Farabello continues its preparation for the World Cup in Latvia. The group will train from this Thursday at the Cenard and there will be the San Isidro intern, Jeremías Diotto. Araujo was not cited.
A new stage begins for the U19 men’s team. From Thursday 20 to Sunday 30 of this month, at the Cenard facilities, the second concentration will be held for the World Cup in the category, which will be played in Latvia from July 3 to 11.
The coaching staff headed by Daniel Farabello ordered the summons of 18 players. After the first call made in April, the initial group was reduced and, for this occasion, four of the seven summoned players who are active abroad will be added: Juan Fernández -recently promoted to LEB Plata in Spain-, Silvano Merlo, Pedro Rossi and Gonzalo Corbalán.
The idea of the coaching staff once this stage is finished is to make a third call in June, where the players who are competing in Europe and the United States are expected to join. It will be more extensive than the previous ones and will serve to define the squad and leave everything ready to start the trip to Riga and Daugavpils, the Latvian cities where the World Cup will be played.
It is worth remembering that, after the official FIBA draw, it was confirmed that Argentina will be part of Group C along with France, Spain and Korea.
