Diosdado Cabello program suspended due to covid-19

(CNN Español) — The deputy and current vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, announced this Tuesday that the broadcast of his program With the mallet giving, which airs on state media every Wednesday, will be suspended for “the appearance of a focus” of covid-19 on his computer.

Diosdado Cabello made this known on Twitter and explained that the decision was made “after evaluating” the issue and after the death of a member of the program’s team. He did not specify whether it will air next week.

Diosdado Cabello revealed in July of last year that he gave positive for coronavirus.

The latest report from the Government of Venezuela included 608 new coronavirus infections and 9,166 patients with the active virus. In the case of deaths linked to covid-19, another 9 were reported and a total of 1,492 have accumulated since the pandemic began.
