After being inspired by fairy tales and having transformed, on the occasion of the fall-winter 2021-2022 parade, the Palace of Versailles into a dark and disturbing place, Maria Grazia Chiuri invests Shanghai to present her fall 2021 collection there. artistic director of the Dior femme collections presented her models in a very festive atmosphere, turning the largest private museum in China into a real nightclub. In front of a few thousand guests – including the star actress of Tiger and dragon (2000) Zhang Ziyi – and on music specially composed by Giorgio Moroder – which everyone can find on a playlist on the Spotify platform – the looks followed one another, celebrating a pop aesthetic.
In this collection, we find the leopard print dear to Maria Grazia Chiuri available on long silk dresses, raincoats, short-sleeved sweaters, caps or even on the iconic Bar jacket. Playing with transparency, the clothes are juxtaposed, like leggings and fishnet tops placed under sequined jackets and skirts. Shiny, silver, gold, metallic, fluorescent … everything in this line recalls the party, mirror balls and the disco atmosphere of the 80s. Also, in a more wintery atmosphere, we find tartan burgundy – usual in collections since fall 2020 – berets, high socks and even… an all-denim jumpsuit. Proof that to dance and celebrate life, sobriety and brilliance can come together.
