Dinosaur Death Moments Due to Asteroids

VIVADinosaur roamed the Earth for millions of years. Until one time, 66 million years ago, a asteroid the size of Mount Everest hit Earth, bringing destruction to them.

Paleontologist Robert DePalma has spent time searching for the ‘graves’ of prehistoric dinosaurs in the hills of North Dakota, United States (US).

It is believed that the creatures were swept to their deaths in the tsunami, then buried in the sediment which explains why they are so well preserved.

From the flying pterosaur embryo that lay inside its egg to the fossil of a dinosaur that may have been killed on the day the asteroid hit extinction, DePalma reveals the amazing discoveries the team unearthed.

It is not only the discovery of fossilized animal remains that adds to the knowledge of the period before the dinosaurs went extinct, but also the preserved footprints left by prehistoric creatures.

DePalma and team have found a number of footprints, including one 30cm long specimen believed to belong to a duck-billed dinosaur.

He said these dinosaurs ate plants in the area and became very large reaching 30 feet in length.
