Dinkes DKI Jakarta Records 2,745 Cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in 2023

Department of Health (Dinkes) DKI Jakarta recorded that there were 2,745 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) in the Capital City from January to June 2023.

“Reported DHF data for DKI Jakarta as of July 10, 2023, a total of 2,745 cases,” said Head of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Health Service Ngabila Salama, Monday (17/7).

Ngabila conveyed that the most dengue cases were in January with 525 cases. While in February there were 434 cases, in March there were 494 cases, and in April there were 499 cases. Then, in May there were 480 cases and in June there were 313 cases.

The highest distribution of DHF cases was in the East Jakarta area with 689 cases. Followed by West Jakarta with 669 cases, South Jakarta with 577, North Jakarta with 563 cases, Central Jakarta with 246 cases, and the Seribu Islands with 1 case.

Ngabila said that DHF is an endemic disease that persists and persists in Jakarta, and has the same pattern of number of cases every year. He said this disease would start increasing every December and would experience a peak in April, then it would decrease again.

According to him, efforts to prevent DHF are by adopting a clean and healthy lifestyle, keeping the environment clean such as eradicating mosquito nests or PSN 3M plus.

“There is a recommendation from the Ministry of Health to move one house for one jumantik cadre or a larva monitor, so that we can continue to do it as well as possible,” said Ngabila.

In addition, spraying the house or using repellent in the morning and evening when the mosquitoes aedes aegepty active.

Ngabilah urges the public to check themselves if they are sick so that a complete blood test or a quick DHF NS1 check is done to quickly diagnose DHF.

“With early detection and immediate treatment, the patient will not become dehydrated and result in death,” said Ngabila.
