“Ding Liren’s Surprise Win Shakes Up World Chess Championships”

:Ian Nepomnishi, the Russian player, is sure to be haunted by the experience of losing an incredible victory that came within his grasp.

A surprise win by Nepo’s rival China’s Ding Liren in the 12th round makes the World Championships exciting.

An interesting thing in contemporary chess is the return of some of the old chess classics. The Collie System, an attacking system designed and released by Belgian chess player Edgard Collie, which dominated the chess world in the 1920s and 30s, is not the opening system that appears in the World Championships. But with only three games remaining, Ding Liren, who was forced to take the white balls and look for victory, unexpectedly adopted the collie system today.

Nepomnishi quickly released all the troops and made active defensive moves. By casting the king on move 11, Nepo invited his opponent into complications. Ding Liren accepted the said challenge, cutting down the opponent’s knight with his bishop. This opened up the king sides of both the players and required accurate and deep calculations in the game.

The error occurred on the 19th move when Ding withdrew the bishop. With this, Nepo gained supremacy. Scientifically he focused all the weapons on the King of Ding. Ding was plagued by a constant lack of time like a mushroom – a predicament where he had to figure out 16 complex moves in just 39 minutes.

Nepo was in control of the game until the 25th move. It was expected that Ding’s defense would crumble like a house of cards within a few moves, and that the distance between Nepo and the crown would be reduced to half a point by winning this game.

But, to everyone’s shock, Nepo’s two weak moves (26 & 28) turned out to be a blessing in disguise for Ding. The state of play has turned upside down. A struggling Ding took advantage of the opportunity and stormed to victory. Nepo conceded defeat on the 38th move.

*Score Status* :

Ian Nepomnishi 6

Ding Liran 6

Ding is returning to the competition for the third time but this time things are different. Nepomnishi is more prone to stress. Because he has to bear the pain of missing out on a chance to win the title.
