The Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike does not succeed themselves as the best DJ in the world. This is evident from the list of the prestigious DJ Magazine. Frenchman David Guetta is on top for the second time after nine years. The Thivaios brothers are in second place. Dutch DJ Martin Garrix in third place.

For experienced rot Guetta it is a perfect birthday present, because at the time of the presentation he has just turned 53 years old. “It’s really incredible,” he responds to the magazine. “I think I feel happier than the first time. It’s interesting because it’s a different time. Things are moving much faster now. When I won ten years ago, I thought it was late. Then I thought for two years: why don’t I win?”
Traditionally, the list is announced during the Amsterdam Music Festival in a packed Johan Cruijff Arena. Due to corona, this year’s edition was virtual with streamed performances by Armin van Buuren, Afrojack and Guetta himself. It is already the 24th time that the public has been able to choose the best DJ in the world. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have been in the top 10 since 2013, with five second places and two first place times (2019, 2015). Other Belgians in the list are Lost Frequencies at number 21, Charlotte De Witte at number 32 and MATTN (Anouk Matton, Dimitri Vegas’ wife) is at number 42.
