The 27-year-old from Antwerp, who was free in the first round with his ninth place in the PDC ranking, never reached his best level. Van den Bergh couldn’t find the triple 20 and had to watch as Hopp, who wasn’t playing convincingly either, ended up winning with an 86 goalkeeper throw. Hopp also showed himself to be the better in leg nine. The German threw an average of 92.66 per three darts against 86.53 for Van den Bergh.
