This was said by Dimitar Nikolov, who according to initial results won the mayoral elections in Burgas.
„Low voter turnout is due to political instability. The series of parliamentary votes had an impact and it demotivated people to vote. In the previous elections, I voted by machine, but as a law-abiding mayor, I complied with the CEC’s decision“, he also said.
Nikolov said that due to the political instability and the covid pandemic, many projects for Burgas were frozen and stopped. Therefore, he hopes that the country will have stable management and government, that there will be peace, working programs and funds.
„Unfortunately, there was no clash of ideas and concepts, maybe that’s why voter turnout in Burgas was low. People, no matter who they sympathize with, should cast their vote. I heard no meaningful proposals from my opponents, although there were fleeting attempts at such. It was a muddy campaign. Burgazlii know everything about me. I always forgive, look ahead and focus on the projects of Burgas. From tomorrow I will start dealing with the children’s hospital, with the excavated streets, with the projects that need to be implemented. We will work much harder “, he also stated.
