The eternal ‘Alvinegro Soldier’

The “Alvinegro Soldier”, as he is known by fans, played more than 600 games for the club, as a player and as a coach, in 46 years of service to Vovô.

The 76-year-old Rio native arrived in the capital of Ceará in 1971 to play for Fortaleza, but transferred the following year to Ceará, a club for which he played until 1976, when he hung up his boots. However, off the field, he continued to work for Vovô in other roles and was often “summoned” to take over technical command of the team on an interim basis.
