Diligent expansion, VoLTE Telkomsel is now present in 219 cities

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. Telkomsel continues to strengthen the 5G ecosystem. One of them is by expanding the range of Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) services in Indonesia. Now Telkomsel’s VoLTE service can be enjoyed in 219 regencies/cities out of a total target of 230 regencies/cities in Indonesia which is targeted until the end of 2021.

The expansion of Telkomsel’s VoLTE service coverage also partners with smart phone devices that already support VoLTE technology. Until now, Telkomsel’s VoLTE service can be used in more than 100 types smartphone. Consists of various brands such as Advan, Evercross, Huawei, Oppo, Realme, Samsung, Vivo and Xiaomi.

The expansion of the VoLTE network coverage by Telkomsel is part of the acceleration of the transition from 2G and 3G networks to 4G/LTE. By using VoLTE services, customers can experience a smoother, faster, and clearer phone call experience than conventional calls or Voice over IP (VoIP).

VoLTE also allows customers to make HD quality voice calls while enjoying internet access whether it’s browsing, playing games, streaming video, all at the same time. “In the future, Video Ring Back Tone (RBT) service technology can also be implemented when customers make voice or video phone calls on the VoLTE network,” explained Nugroho.
