Dilemma for Raja Casablanca Office: Riots and Provocations at Throne Cup Final

The Raja Casablanca office is facing a dilemma due to the riots and the provocation of its fans to the national flag and whistles during the national anthem in Rabat.

Last Saturday, the final match of the Throne Cup football match between Raja Athletic and Nahdet Berkane witnessed riots that caused great problems for the Raja Casablanca office.

And according to Al-Sabah newspaper, some of the arrested fans affiliated with the green team made statements revealing that the Raja office asked them to move massively to Rabat to attend the match without providing them with tickets.

And the same source added that the security authorities in Rabat arrested 144 Raja fans on charges of rioting outside and inside the Moulay Abdallah stadium, where it is expected that the statements of a number of detainees will cause Mohamed Boudreika, the team’s president, to be prosecuted, as things have taken a dangerous turn.

As a result, according to the same source, Mohamed Yacoubi, the governor of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, decided to pursue the officials of the Casablanca team before the judiciary on heavy charges, including disturbing public order.

And the source explained that the masses’ movement to Rabat early in the morning to attend the match, which started at eight in the evening, indicates a prior intention among some of the fans to stay at night and riot, which is what actually happened.

And the same source added that what made things worse was the denunciation of the national flag by the fans of Raja, and the whistling during the playing of the national anthem, which constituted a free gift to the enemies of the homeland, at a time when university officials were fighting in the corridors of “Kaf” in Abidjan for the sake of Morocco.
