Police Headquarters Freiburg
On Monday morning, the police in Freiburg received a report from a driver who was driving on the A5 motorway behind a Romanian tractor-trailer that leaned sharply to the left.
The truck was finally found in the city of Freiburg and subjected to an inspection.
A check revealed that the compressed air line of the braking system was partially disconnected, which meant that two brakes on the semi-trailer were inoperative.
The very strong inclination was due, on the one hand, to the fact that the load was incorrectly or partially not secured. On the other hand, an approx. 20 cm long crack was found on the vehicle frame of the semi-trailer, which is why the vehicle leaned to the left. According to TÜV Freiburg, it was only a matter of time before the frame broke apart.
Continuing the journey was prohibited and the load was reloaded onto a replacement truck commissioned by the forwarding agent.
A workshop in Freiburg is now checking whether the repair of the semi-trailer is still worthwhile.
The entrepreneur had to pay a high fine on site.
