Dijon’s second biggest club, the Union sportive des cheminots dijonnais (USCD) has decided not to register several of its young teams in the regional championship and to go back to the departmental level to sanction the behavior of several young people last season, explains a leading to the public good.

No team in regional championship
A decision approved, in particular in order to preserve its coaches. The club was facing increasing disciplinary issues within its structure which cost it dearly. Last season, the USCD, renowned for its training, had to pay 3800 euros in penalty fees for bad behavior, 60% of which was committed in the youth categories.
As a result, no team from U14 to U18 will play in the regional championship. All will be registered at the departmental level, including two of them who could claim to play higher.
“There was no physical attack but the facts were worrying enough for it to alert us, testifies Pascal Saillard, vice-president of the club, in the columns of the Good public. One of our players was suspended for eleven games after verbally speaking out against a referee. Such behavior is not acceptable in a club whose vocation is above all social.”
Behaviors that risked encouraging some educators to leave. “They spent more time reframing the kids than playing sports, specifies Philippe Carion, the president of the USCD, with the local daily.
