Following Kyle Milling’s false leap, JDA Dijon set out to find a new coach with a defensive profile, through Jean-Louis Borg and his new sports director Fabien Romeyer. Many options have been explored but that of a foreign technician tops the list. According to our information, this is the Bosnian coach with Spanish passport Nenad Markovic (53 years old).
Author of a very good playing career, the former full-back notably wore the colors of Limoges between 1996 and 1999, with two selections for the All-Star Game of Pro A. In 2007, he reconverted as a coach – in addition to getting into politics – and worked for a long time in the Greek championship before settling in Turkey with a detour to Spain to stealthily coach Tenerife in 2017. Since his career leaving the Canaries, he coached Gaziantep, a wealthy club in South-East Turkey. He notably supervised Mouhammadou Jaiteh over the past season.
Gaziantep will formalize his departure
His departure from the Turkish club is already announced, leaving the door open to an arrival in Burgundy. At the JDA, he would find part of the core of the 2020-2021 squad (Jacques Alingué, Abdoulaye Loum?) As well as Gavin Ware, who will return to the club.
#GaziantepBasketballwill not continue with coach Nenad Markovic. Official announcement coming soon!#Gaziantep #GaziantepFK
