Dijon. This Friday, farmers will demonstrate “so that the Region pays”

Be careful if you plan to drive near the regional council this Friday morning. From 10 a.m., a rally of farmers is announced to protest against “delays in the processing and payment” of European aid (EAFRD – European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development) managed by the Region.

No tractors

A “symbolic action” initiated by the Young Farmers of Burgundy-Franche-Comté and the FDSEA (Departmental Federation of Farmers’ Unions) of Côte-d’Or. In their press release, the organizers estimate that there remain “3,447 files to be resolved” by June 2025.

Note that this mobilization is announced “without tractors”, which should limit traffic disruptions in downtown Dijon.

A call for a peaceful gathering

Still according to the organizers’ press release, the mobilization should end between 1 and 2 p.m. after a “lunch snack on site”. Furthermore, they call for the mobilization “to take place as best as possible so that the Ministry of Agriculture confirms its commitments”.

Indeed, in recent days, several announcements have made it possible to “finally consider an end to the crisis” according to the FDSEA 21. And to cite, in particular, the “reopening of loans with payment of interest by the Region for all files in waiting for payment.
