DIJON: Emmanuel Bichot claims “a large Suzon park”

The city councilor recalls that the opposition group Agir pour Dijon had voted against the sale of land on the banks of the Suzon, intended for a real estate project, to “damage biodiversity”.

Agir pour Dijon press release of November 22, 2022:

For the creation of a large park Suzon!

The Agir pour Dijon movement proposes the extension of the Parc du Suzon to all the neighboring green spaces, i.e. a total area of about four hectares.

We therefore propose that the Parc du Suzon, today limited to the small – but remarkable – “Japanese garden”, be extended to include a children’s play area, the magnificent “horse trails” (enriched by a petanque field), the large virgin land of almost one acre located further north to the Suzon waterfront on this portion and the land owned by the municipality, southwest of the bend formed by the Suzon.

This project was presented to residents at a neighborhood assembly on Saturday, November 6, 2022, and unanimously approved in principle by those present, with a request that residents be consulted on developments: tree planting, biodiversity, fitness trail, dog area…

It should be recalled that our municipal group, in June 2022, had refused to vote for the transfer of a municipal land located in Suzon Bight, with a total area of nearly one hectare, as part of a real estate transaction of 85 units housing on a wider scale. Our reservations are still relevant: lack of consultation with local residents, disappearance of a natural area, partially flooded area, damage to biodiversity.

Having acknowledged that on the agreed date of 31 October 2022, the conditions precedent envisaged in the promise of sale attached to the resolution of the municipal council of 27 June 2022 do not apply, it is requested that the present sale be terminated and the land affected by the project for a large suzon park.
