Dijon: distribution of protective masks against the covid-19 coronavirus is underway

How many masks are distributed to the inhabitants?

The coronavirus epidemic that has been raging for several weeks is slowing down, but it is important to remain vigilant and to follow safety instructions if we want to avoid the arrival of a second wave of contagion.
Indeed, if the containment measures are to be lifted Monday, May 11, 2020, the potentially deadly virus continues to circulate.

It is in this context that the city of Dijon has decided to equip its citizens with three protective masks against covid-19 :

-a so-called surgical mask which is for single use.
-two AFNOR approved fabric masks: they are washable and can be used 50 times. A user and maintenance guide is given to residents upon removal.

In total, 1.7 million masks will be distributed to the inhabitants of Dijon and the 23 municipalities of the metropolis:
-700,000 washable and reusable French fabric masks
– one million surgical masks made in China.

Each municipality in the Dijon metropolitan area organizes its own distribution system.

How is the distribution of masks organized?

Distribution, which started on Saturday May 9, will continue throughout the weekend.
As of this morning, many Dijon residents went to the polling stations to collect their mask kits. Sometimes a few slowdowns are reported, but usually the queue resolves within minutes.

It is the first letter of the family name which determines the time of passage : it is therefore those whose names begin with A and B who opened the ball between 9h and 12h.
Distribution must continue until 7 p.m. it will resume on Sunday May 10 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

You must have your identity card or driving license, as well as identity documents of the other people for whom we come to remove the masks. If this is not possible, any particular situation can be reported to the OnDijon toll free number: 0 800 21 3000
Note that those who do not yet have identity documents bearing their Dijon address can present proof of address (gas bill, electricity …).

In all cases, you must take your exit certificate with you, on which the “Essential purchases …” check box has been checked.
