Digitalization: MTN Cameroon launches a digital skills platform


Campus of the Paul Biya IAI Center of Technological Excellence – African Institute of Informatics – at Nkol Anga’a in the district of Nkolafamba, department of Mefou-et-Afamba – Central region -, on December 19, the MTN Cameroon company launches the “MTN Skills Academy” platform.
It is an online learning platform aimed at acquiring or improving skills in the digital field, we learn.
Available at www.skillsacademy.mtn.com, MTN Skills Academy, according to the demonstration made on the spot by an employee of the MTN Cameroon company, offers students training in digital skills. It offers a range of courses and training courses with the aim of satisfying job seekers and business creators.
The courses mainly focus on computer coding, web development, digital marketing, data analysis, among others.
“In the digital age, it is important that our young people are sufficiently equipped to respond effectively to new challenges, both for their personal development and fulfillment and for the progress of our country. It is with this in mind that MTN Skills Academy was designed. », declared Marie-Germaine Ndzie Atedzoé, Senior Manager Corporate Affairs of MTN Cameroon, representing the general director of this structure at the ceremony.
Through this action, recognized the resident representative of the IAI, Armand Claude Abanda, also sponsor of the launching ceremony of the MTN Skills Academy platform: “MTN continues to demonstrate that it is a civic company, widely engaged in social actions”.
The launch of the “MTN Skills Academy” platform, according to the structure, aligns with MTN’s mission to ensure that everyone benefits from the benefits of a modern and connected life. The MTN Skills Academy initiative is added, we learn, to other programs deployed by the MTN Foundation with a view to popularizing access to digital training and encouraging technological innovation including Y’ello Digital Talent. The MTN Foundation is also engaged in programs aimed at reducing the disparity and even the digital bill in Cameroon. After women, disadvantaged groups – the disabled and orphans, among others – MTN allows students, particularly engineers, to have access to high-level certifications.
