Digital: the most followed influencers in Cameroon


By category, the media intelligence study on the influencer market in Cameroon provides data on their presence across different platforms between July and September 2023.

In its recent study on the influencer market in Cameroon, the Media Intelligence firm reveals the most followed personalities on social networks. Media intelligence analyzed the digital presence of influencers listed in 11 categories over a period of three months, from July to September 2023. Particularly in the media, cooking, music, sport, comedy, celebrity, fashion and beauty categories.

Published data indicates that the most followed influencers fall into the music category. This art has an audience rate of 44.4%, ahead of sport which records 33.3% and the business/lifestyle category 22.2%. Although music actors have a larger audience on Facebook, Samuel Eto’o stands out as the most followed personality on this social network with 20 million 400,000 followers. Far from the artist Daphné who comes in second position with 5.7 million subscribers. Next comes Tenor with 4 million followers, Coco Emilia 4.2 million and Charlotte Dipanda who occupies fifth position with 3.7 million followers. Francis Nganou, Nathalie Koah, Muriel Blanche and Mimie complete the top 10 in ascending order.

The study also provides detailed data on the weight of influencers in each category identified. For example, in terms of media, the journalist Alain Foka is the most followed on Facebook with 102,242 followers for an engagement rate of 3%. Julie Ngue, Melissa Amougou Belinga, Ernest Obama and Paola Audrey N are the four others who make up the top 5 most followed. But Alain Foka and Julie Ngue remain by far the personalities attracting the most communities.

There is strong competition among influencers in the comedy and animation category. Frida Choco, Fingon Tralala, Tik Dengue and Moustik le Karismatik all have the same weight on the Facebook network with performance indices evaluated at 100%. However Moustik le Karismatik has the highest engagement rate (2%) with an average of 9.4 posts per day.

It must be said that in order of importance, influencers are classified by several groups according to the size of their communities. Nano influencers, for less than 5,000 subscribers; between 5,000 and 100,000 for micro influencers; with more than 100,000 subscribers we are talking about macro influencers and around 1 million, all stars.
