Music has been defined as the highest art, as one of the oldest manifestations of humans and as a necessity. Most of us have a specific idea of what we mean by music. That is why it is worth talking about a phenomenon of these times: how its nature is changing in the era of digital streaming.
And it is that with the new ways of monetization, perhaps this change is irreversible. In Spotify it is considered from the second 30 that a “play” has already been officially made; fewer seconds and is not counted. Result: the musicians then strive to create musical structures that before 30 seconds reach the choir, the part that will make thousands want to hum and have it with us: buy it.
Another example is the use of the “bridge.” With the appearance of TikTok and its minute of audiovisual efficiency, various artists are creating compositions that their fans can turn into useful video clips, with an entertaining aural narrative. Several have confessed that yes, that when writing their song they thought how they wanted their song to be used on TikTok.
This has generated huge economies. A music market has opened up that is changing the way we listened and enjoyed sounds to experience feelings. Will this then also change the world of feelings? We need many talented musicians to continue proposing and creating these new ways of living and feeling.
