The small business sector has been one of the most affected by the Covid crisis. Several experts have spoken of the need for an imminent digitization of the local economy for their survival, as well as the importance of citizen support. This Christmas, being a time of high consumption, will make a difference for hundreds of them. In this context, Facebook and Instagram have launched the #NavidadConSaborLocal campaign to promote the consumption of local and proximity products these holidays.

In parallel, various well-known characters from the world of gastronomy They will serve as examples and inspiration for various dishes made with a selection of local ingredients. Among them are Isasaweis, El Cocinero Fiel, The Gourmet Journal or Las Recetas de MJ. In addition, Alma Obregón will be in charge of completing the menu with ideas for desserts.
This latest initiative joins the various actions that the multinational has taken in recent months to promote a “rescue of SMEs.” At this time, commitment becomes crucial as various studies show that the openness to discovering new products is greater than at other times of the year.
In the words of Lola Baños, communication director of Facebook Spain: “The circumstances we have experienced this year have made many small and medium-sized companies digitally advance in months what they would have done in years. Facebook and Instagram have been one of the pillars on which many of these companies have relied to continue advancing; in fact, more than 160 million companies already use our platforms to stay in touch with their customers, sell your products and grow. With #NavidadConSaborLocal we want to encourage people to consume in these small businesses and prepare their recipes with local products, to take advantage of the delicious flavors that our land gives us and thereby help to recover, together, the economy. “
