Digitalization – Where are we and where are we headed?
When asked at what point one can speak of over-optimization or over-digitalization, Steffen still sees potential for development: “I think we still have a ways to go. At the moment we are more concerned with the fact that we somehow have a huge cultural similarity on the On the one hand, technologies that can now do a lot, in terms of the mindset, the usual working methods, which simply lead to conflicts, the processes are outdated.”

Steffen sees both opportunities and challenges in this: “If you see Europe in competition with Asia and America, that is of course additional regulation that potentially slows down companies because they have to explain themselves or because they cannot use some data.”
Nevertheless, he sees the need to protect human rights and regulate dangerous software. Even if it means a certain restriction for companies, he thinks it is justifiable. He does not see the timing of the regulation, while digitalization is just gaining momentum, as a problem: “Just as we attach particular importance to sustainability issues, I also see the EU as having a responsibility to protect personal rights and human rights.”
Outlook for the further course of the congress
Exciting lectures and fireside chats were on the agenda for the afternoon, in which intensive discussions took place in smaller groups. The congress was rounded off with an evening program with networking, cocktails and DJ Mauri Q.
