A digital exile university is to be founded for Afghans.
A concept for this has been going on for two days since yesterday conference discussed in Frankfurt am Main. There are representatives of the Afghan education system who have left their country. One of them told the German Press Agency that many of her former students at the University of Kabul were desperate. Another told the Evangelical Press Service that the Taliban had closed many of the 150 or so universities in Afghanistan – and abolished courses in the humanities and social sciences.
The planned university in exile is intended to help Afghans in the country and in exile – both researchers and students. Cooperations with partner universities in Germany and other countries should provide the opportunity to obtain double degrees.
