Digital Citizenship: Hundreds of students took part in a new training session organized by the Provincial Government

Within the framework of the Digital Citizenship Training Program promoted by the Government of Chubut, led by Ignacio “Nacho” Torres, and with the participation of hundreds of students, it happened this Wednesday afternoon at High School No. 701 de Esquel a new meeting aimed at young people from different buildings in the mountain town.

Esquel Polytechnic School was the center chosen for training and reflection on the digital environment in a shared way with young people from different educational institutions.

The activity, organized by the Ministry of Education, led by José Luis Punta, the Banco del Chubut Foundation, and the Association “Faro del Chubut”, took place in the Multipurpose Room of the school, which was full of students from different educational institutions, who followed the day with great interest and enjoyed the performance of the musician Under MC, one of the Argentine rap producers.

At the Polytechnic “Francisco Eduardo Gilardoni”, the organizers offered words of welcome and gave way to interesting interventions with teenagers, who thought about how they live in the digital environment and topics related to the construction of digital citizenship.

It should be noted that this Regional Program started days ago in the city of Trelew with the participation of Governor “Nacho” Torres himself, and continued in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia.

Two training sessions

This program is defined between the educational portfolio, the Banco del Chubut Foundation and “Faro Digital” envisaging two issues: the first, focusing on large meetings with high school students; and the second, teacher training.

Among the objectives is to strengthen digital citizenship, through participatory methods, based on human rights.

This project also aims to promote a cultural transformation that leads to digital well-being among young people through education, citizen participation and political commitment.
