Digital age in the German Judo Association

Digitalization as a shared opportunity

This step marks the beginning of a new chapter for the entire organization and administration at DJB. The DJB would like to take this path together with its regional associations and clubs.

The way passports are issued has changed only slightly and all comments and objections from the regional associations could be taken into account.

This switch to digital processes means a comprehensive change that will initially involve effort and adjustments in the clubs and regional associations. In the long term, however, digitalization will bring numerous advantages: all important information will be bundled in a central location, administrative processes will be simplified and accelerated, and paper work will be significantly reduced. Whether licenses, appointments or documentation – all data is digital and can be accessed at any time, which makes daily work easier.

Timing

In order to give the regional associations and clubs enough time to make the change, clear deadlines have been defined:

October 12, 2024: DJB general meeting:

  • Resolution to change the passport regulations

December 1st, 2024: First partial move to the DJB portal (from the judo portal)

  • Competition license (extension and reissue)
  • No Membership extension (clubs €10 annual fee) via the old judo portal more (!)

February 28, 2025: Move to the DJB portal (from the judo portal)

  • Tournament and event reports
  • Change in passport orders
  • Membership license for clubs (€10 annually) in the new DJB portal (replaces the fee for the old judo portal)

01.03.2025: JudoPass

  • Only new digital judo passes are valid at DJB level
  • Reports on DJB events via the DJB portal

December 31, 2025: Transitional regulation

  • At the regional association level, judoka CAN still identify themselves with the paper judo pass (determination of the respective LV).

This ensures that the transition to the digital organization is smooth and gradual.

The introduction of digital membership management represents an important step into the future and is intended to make administration within the DJB more efficient and modern. More information to follow.
