Due to the ongoing pollution episode in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais, only Crit’Air 0, 1, 2 and 3 vehicles are authorized to circulate in the Lille area.
The episode of fine particle pollution continues in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais regions and has consequences for car traffic.
The Nord prefecture has indeed decided to set up differentiated traffic again in the Métropole de Lille this Monday and “for at least 24 hours”.
Who can ride?
Concretely, only vehicles equipped with a Crit’Air O, 1, 2 or 3 sticker can circulate in the territory of the Metropolis, namely: Lille (including Hellemmes and Lomme), La Madeleine, Lambersart, Lezennes, Marcq-en- Baroeul, Marquette-lez-Lille, Mons-en-Baroeul, Ronchin, Saint-André-lez-Lille and Sequedin. Axes A1, A22, A25, N227 and M652 are however not affected by these restrictions.
Given this episode of pollution, the prefecture calls for priority to be given to public transport. Access to the Ilévia network is free on Monday.
“The entire Ilévia metro, bus and tram network is freely accessible without the obligation to validate a transport ticket during the day”, indicates the network.
Speed limits outside mainland France
Note that outside the Lille Metropolis, speed limits apply for this day of Monday. In the Nord and Pas-de-Calais, the speed is temporarily limited to 110 km/h on the 130 sections and 90 km/h on the 110 sections.
The maximum authorized speed for heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes is also reduced to 80 km/h.
