Hair transplantation is a plastic procedure that is becoming increasingly common. Hair loss can be very annoying for many people. To the extent that it has a significant impact on their self-confidence, and the fact that there is a solution for it is a blessing for them. But there is not one method of hair transplantation, on the contrary: there are different hair transplantation techniques available. We discuss four of the most commonly used and current techniques that are not only used in… hair transplant in menbut also in women.
FUE hair transplant technique
One of the most commonly used techniques for hair transplantation is FUE, or Follicular Unit Extraction. This involves removing individual hair follicles (called follicles) from a donor area to be moved to the desired recipient area. The donor area is usually located at the back of the head. This area is first shaved for this treatment. Individual hair follicles are then removed one by one using a small hollow needle or a punch, after which they are reimplanted elsewhere. This technique ensures minimal scarring and a short recovery time. This is because no large incision is required. As a patient, you can resume your normal daily activities within a few days, which is very pleasant. FUE is also suitable for hair transplant in women.
Sapphire hair transplant technique
The Saffier hair transplant technique is one of the latest techniques in the field of hair transplantation and builds on the FUE technique. In this case, special sapphire blades are used for the incisions in the reception area. These are extremely fine and sharp, allowing precise incisions with minimal damage to surrounding tissue. This also allows hair follicles to be placed closer together and thus achieve higher hair density. This can create a natural and defined hairline. Furthermore, the technique is the same as the FUE hair transplant technique, as we discussed above.
DHI Hair Transplant Technique
The Direct Hair Implantation (DHI) hair transplant technique also builds on the precision of the FUE technique, but combines it with an automated hair implant process. The main feature of this method is the use of the Choi pen, which allows hair follicles to be implanted directly into the recipient area without the need for incisions. This ensures an even faster recovery time and precise placement of the hair follicles. An additional advantage of the DHI technique is that you do not have to shave, so you can keep your hair at its length. This also makes it easier to keep the procedure private if you do not want others to know about it.
V6 Hairboost Treatment
The V6 Hairboost treatment is perhaps the most innovative method for hair transplantation on this list. This does not involve traditional hair transplant surgery, but does involve stem cell technology to stimulate hair growth and strengthen existing hair. Both men and women can increase their hair density with this method without having to go under the knife, so to speak. To perform a V6 Hairboost treatment, first a small amount of blood is taken from the patient. Growth factors and stem cells are isolated from this blood. These are injected into both the recipient area and the donor area to stimulate hair growth. Recovery is almost immediate with this method, allowing patients to resume their normal activities.
The fact that there are different techniques for hair transplantation does not mean that you as a patient decide for yourself which method will be used if you choose to have a hair transplant performed. In consultation with a specialist, you can determine which treatment is most suitable for your hair type. Of course, you can put your wishes on the table and discuss them together to make a good choice, but you can assume that the specialist will propose a certain treatment for a reason.
