Different Functions of the Stickers on the KRL Seats After Removing Then Installed Again

Jakarta

Keep distance marker sticker on KRL was revoked. But now installed again, it’s just a different function.

The distance restrictions on the seats of each carriage, which were originally marked with a sticker containing a seat ban, were lifted as of Wednesday (9/3) yesterday. This is a form of adjustment regarding the latest Circular (SE) of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

“KAI Commuter starting March 9, 2022 runs KRL operations and services according to the latest regulations from the government, namely the Circular Letter of the Ministry of Transportation Number 25 of 2022,” wrote KAI Commuter.

KAI Commuter explained that the SE of the Ministry of Transportation regulates the capacity of train passengers in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi (Jabodetabek), and the Yogyakarta-Solo route. Now the passenger capacity has been increased from 45 percent to 60 percent.

“In the regulation, commuter trains in agglomeration areas, including the Jabodetabek KRL and Yogyakarta-Solo KRL, are allowed to serve users up to 60% of capacity. This is an increase after previously serving only 45% of capacity,” explained KAI Commuter.

Even though the distance limit on seats is lifted, KAI Commuter still applies standing markings. KAI Commuter also urges KRL passengers to be disciplined with standing marks.

“With the removal of the markings on the seats, KAI Commuter invites users to be more disciplined in following standing markings. Standing markings remain in effect in line with the capacity restrictions stipulated in the SE Ministry of Transportation,” wrote KAI Commuter.

Still Asked to Keep Distance

Even though the social distancing sticker was removed, the officers inside the KRL asked the seated passengers to stand up so that the seats could only be filled with five people, even though the seats could be filled more than that.

“Sir, please stand up,” said the officer.

“It’s a sign that it’s been removed,” said a passenger.

“Yes sir, the long chair is only for five people. The small chair is filled by three people,” replied the officer.
