The sentence for the former Head of the International Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte (55), at the appeals level nothing has changed. His fate is different from the 2 convicts who are still a gang, namely: Djoko Tjandra and Pinangki Sirna Malasari whose punishment is circumcision.

Napoleon’s sentence was upheld on appeal. Napoleon was still found guilty of accepting bribes from Djoko S Tjandra and had to serve a sentence of 4 years in prison.

“Strengthening the Corruption Court Decision at the Central Jakarta District Court for which the appeal was requested. Ordering that the period of arrest and detention that has been served by the Defendant is reduced entirely from the length of the sentence imposed,” reads the decision of the Jakarta High Court (PT) as reported by the MA website. , Wednesday (28/7/2021).

Thus, the reason for the objections of the Defendant’s Legal Counsel regarding the indictment of legal defects is not true,” said the high court.

Pinangki Prosecutor’s Sentencing Correction

“That the Defendant is a mother of her child who is still a toddler (4 years old) deserves the opportunity to care for and give love to her child during his growth period. That the Defendant as a woman must receive attention, protection, and be treated fairly,” said the chairman of the panel. On Pinangki’s verdict, the public prosecutor (JPU) decided not to file an appeal. Pinangki’s attorney also decided so. Thus, the decision of PT DKI Jakarta to circumcise Pinangki’s sentence from 10 to 4 years in prison is declared to have permanent legal force or inkrah.
