Facts You Need to Know about the Differences between Earth and Mars. NASA

Merdeka.com – At first glance, the striking difference between Earth and Mars is in terms of color. Mars is famous for its eye-catching red color, while Earth has a blue color arising from the oceans that fill the planet.
But other than that, what else distinguishes Earth from Mars?
Besides having differences in color, Mars also has differences in terms of size with Earth. Mars has a diameter of 4,220 miles or 6,791 km with a width of 12,756 km, much smaller than the size of Earth. In comparison, the Earth’s core alone is about 4,400 miles wide or about 7,100 km, even larger than Mars as a whole.
Reporting from Space, Wednesday (3/5), other differences can also be seen in terms of climate. Mars has a much colder climate than Earth. This is influenced by the distance of Mars which is farther from the Sun than the distance of Earth to the Sun. The average temperature on Mars can reach minus 60 degrees Celsius, a figure that can make living things freeze.
Mars’ distance from the Sun is farther than Earth, which means that Mars has a longer year. In one year, Mars has 687 days to go through, a number that is quite different from Earth, because one year on Earth only takes 365 days, almost half.
But neither Mars nor Earth have nearly the same day length. Mars takes about 24 hours and 40 minutes to complete one rotation on its axis, while Earth takes 24 hours, only 40 minutes different from Mars.
The atmospheres that protect Mars and Earth are also quite different, Mars’ atmosphere which is rich in carbon dioxide is about 100 times denser than Earth’s atmosphere. The density of the atmosphere there varies quite a bit with the seasons on Mars itself, because the red planet’s winter forces their carbon dioxide to freeze in the air.
Those are some other differences between Mars and Earth besides their color difference. Judging from the large number of differences, it seems that Mars is not the right way out if humans really want to migrate.
Apart from all that, scientists and astronauts continue to conduct research on the red planet, let’s look forward to the latest findings, will Mars really be the future home of humans?
