I love Miyavix’s anti-glare type “OverLay Plus” as a protective film for my smartphone screen. A variant called “OverLay Plus Lite” for high definition LCDs has been added to this OverLay Plus for some time now.
I was wondering what it was like so I bought it at the opportunity to replace the film.
Difference between OverLay Plus and OverLay Plus Lite
OverLay Plus is a protective film that adds an anti-reflection (low reflection) treatment to the glass surface to reduce the reflection of fluorescent lights and sunlight on the screen, making the screen more visible even when used outdoors.
On the other hand, OverLay Plus Lite has a mild degree of anti-reflection. The glare avoidance function is slightly reduced, and instead it is a specification that does not generate glare even on high-definition displays.
The regular version is superior in anti-reflection performance and the Lite version is superior in color reproducibility.
I actually bought
I actually bought OverLay Plus Lite for Pixel 6a. Contents are the same as others… Wipes are a wet and dry set.
In addition, for those who are not sure about gluing, there is also information about the free gluing service. I’m a (cocky) veteran who’s pasted dozens of times so far, so I’ll paste this myself. But if you want to put a tablet sheet on it, I’d definitely like to ask.
At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be much difference.
The Pixel 6 on the left has a regular OverLay Plus and the Pixel 6a on the right has an OverLay Plus Lite.
When you look at the image like this, you can’t really tell the difference, but when you look at it with the naked eye, the Lite version looks like the reflected image has a relatively clear outline.
For terminals with attached glossy glass film. You can see the lighting clearly.
For Pixel 6 with OverLay Plus. Lighting edges are blurred.
For Pixel 6a with OverLay Plus Lite. Blurs how light spreads across the screen.
The left and right are reversed from before, but you can see the difference when you put them side by side.
As for the color difference, well… it seems strange to me, but it’s at a level that doesn’t bother me that much. (due to differences in screen brightness)
summary
I think there are preferences like the degree of reflection. In my case, I didn’t like the reflection of the lighting in the room, so how about Lite? I thought, but when I actually compared it, I liked Lite better. Since the price won’t change, I will buy the Lite version in the future.
OverLay Plus Lite is recommended.
