Dietzenbach: Reduced admission to the outdoor pool

Children, adolescents and students pay just one euro for admission to the Dietzenbach forest swimming pool during the summer holidays.

Dietzenbach gnaws financially on starvation, but is still setting a good example: Children from five years of age, schoolchildren and students: during the Hessian summer holidays in the Dietzenbach forest swimming pool, they only pay one euro for three hours of bathing fun instead of 2.50 euros. There are also free seahorse courses for children during the holidays.

The coalition made up of the SPD, the Greens and the Left had introduced a correspondingly formulated proposal to the latest city council meeting on Friday, which Jürgen Balzar (non-attached) supported in the vote.

A few weeks ago, with a view to the Corona hygiene concept, the city rejected requests from associations that wanted to organize courses in the outdoor pool. Among other things, the Red Cross Youth wanted to give swimming courses for children and the SG Dietzenbach aquafitness courses.

“If we now do from the municipal side what clubs wanted to offer, I find it unfortunate,” said CDU chairman Christoph Mikuschek. His party colleague Manuel Salomon told the FR that the clubs had felt offended and were now offering some of the courses in other cities. In addition, one also has to draw a conclusion. “Either it is questionable because of Corona to allow swimming courses or not.” Sven Hartmann (FDP) spoke of an “honorable offer”, but foresaw a great rush, which is difficult to cope with now in pandemic times.

With the votes of the coalition, a total of 20,000 euros were entered in the budget for the reduced entry fee and swimming courses; CDU, Free Voters, FDP and AfD voted against it. “The swimming courses are now taking place at the city’s expense,” said Salomon annoyed.
