Diether Kerner has been appointed creative director (CCO) of the Fischer-Appelt agency group. Kerner, who has been in charge of creation at the agency subsidiary Philipp und Keuntje (PUK) since 2016, will take over the position from Hartwig Keuntje, founder of PUK, effective January 1. Keuntje will remain associated with Fischer-Appelt as senior advisor and shareholder, the company said.
With the newly filled position, the agency group is expanding its focus: In the future, it wants to invest more in data and technology-driven marketing and communication. Among other things, Kerner is to combine communication systems, data usage and creativity that are currently in demand. The individual creative units of the group, which are focused on different specialties, are to be more closely interlinked.
Creative excellence is no longer conceivable without technology, explained Fischer Appelt board member Matthias Wesselmann. An expanded management portfolio and a new management structure should take the plans into account.
