Diet Experts Recommend These Vegetables to Lower Cholesterol

Cholesterol is good for reducing cholesterol levels.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Health experts recommend eating certain vegetables to maintain blood sugar levels cholesterol in the body remains in balance. According to dietitian Lisa Young, there is one vegetable that is effective in maintaining optimal cholesterol levels, namely carrots.

“Carrots are a good source of soluble fiber, which can help reduce cholesterol levels. These vegetables are also rich in beta carotene, an antioxidant vitamin A that can protect against chronic diseases such as heart disease,” Young said. ExpressFriday (20/5/2022).

Cholesterol is a fatty substance that the body needs to maintain overall health, including maintaining optimal cardiovascular function capacity. However, too much cholesterol in an unbalanced amount can lead to poor health.

There are two subtypes of cholesterol, namely HDL and LDL. HDL is known as the “good” cholesterol because it keeps the heart healthy. Meanwhile, LDL is referred to as “bad” cholesterol because it forms as plaque in the arteries which raises blood pressure.

Eat carrot routinely believed to keep HDL levels higher than LDL. Balancing cholesterol levels is very important, as an effort to prevent heart disease and other forms of cardiovascular disease.
