Diesel price higher tomorrow, there will be no more excise duty reduction

The maximum price of diesel increases by 17.4 cents per liter to 2.08 euros. On Saturday, the price of both petrol and diesel had just fallen by 17.5 cents per liter following a decision by the federal government to cut excise taxes.

The government wanted to ease the energy bill of the citizen somewhat. Due to the current price increase, the effect of that reduction will be a thing of the past after five days.

“The increase in the oil price is the reason for the sharp price increase of diesel,” said Energia, the federation of oil companies. “In a week, a barrel of Brent oil has become 10 dollars more expensive,” says the organization. “Obviously, without the reduction in excise duties, the price would have been much higher,” Energia adds.
