The match of the 27th round of the championship of Argentina against “Huracan” (0:1) was the last in his playing career for the 37-year-old Uruguayan.
“I wanted to leave like this – healthy. It may come as a surprise, but I’ve been thinking about ending football for a while now. Now I have other priorities. My family lives in Uruguay, I recently became a dad. I want to relax and enjoy other things, leaving a good impression with my game,” RMC Sport quotes the player.
As a reminder, Godin won the Europa League twice with Atlético Madrid.
