Movistar Estudiantes has a new coach: Diego Epifanio. After the non-continuity of Jota Cuspinera, the collegiate entity has decided to put its trust in the Burgos coach, who has 2 promotions to the Endesa League as head coach.
DEPT. COMMUNICATION MOVISTAR STUDENTS
Trained in Burgos, his hometown, Diego Epifanio was part of CB Tizona (formerly CB Atapuerca) from training categories. As an assistant coach, he achieved several promotions, first from LEB 2 (current LEB Plata), and later from LEB Oro to Liga Endesa -three, specifically-, which were never consummated.
In the 2016-17 season, already as head coach of San Pablo Burgos, he was promoted in the LEB Oro playoff, keeping the team in ACB for the next two seasons. For the 2019-20 campaign he signs for Río Breogán, a team with which he would get promotion in the 2020-21 season after a very tough playoff.
The new collegiate coach signs until the end of the season and will direct the training sessions from this Thursday. The first match he will lead will be on Sunday 24 (12:30 p.m.) against Gipuzkoa Basket.
