In doing so, he saved Manchester United from another fiasco.
It was not a convincing effort Manchester United put in against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday night.
The visitors did indeed win 2–1 against the Premier League jumbo, who have only scraped together one point in nine games, but it was far from over.
The Portuguese Diego Dalot stepped forward and decided the event a quarter of an hour from the end, on a pass from Victor Lindelöf, when he found the net from distance.
It was only the full back’s second goal in the Man United shirt.
Earlier, Scot McTominay had given the visitors the lead before Oliver McBurnie equalized from a first-half penalty.
