We have seen the number of corona cases rise again recently. Gommers isn’t worried yet, but he is on his guard. He says: “You notice that it squeaks and creaks, because we want to continue regular care.” This is currently being scaled down, because the capacity is not there for it to continue at full speed.
How are we doing now?
The new measures have again imposed a large number of restrictions. According to Gommers, the tone of the last press conference has ensured that the virus is also experienced differently in society. “The realization has now come through that we have to work together. I see it positively that it will just work together”, says Gommers.
The rapid tests
Last week, it was announced that crownsneltests developed that give a result within a few seconds. Gommers is optimistic about this: “I have a little hope that we will be able to test everyone as of January 1 and as often as they want.” He does recognize that we still have to overcome a few hurdles before we get there. If we do manage to test everyone from January 1, that would also be good news for the larger events and meetings. “That would be great. Then you could do a concert.”
