Died in an accident with the Culemborg ambulance

The occupant of the car died this afternoon in the collision between an ambulance and a passenger car.

The vehicles collided head-on. Paramedics sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital, police said.

The accident occurred around 1pm on the provincial road between Culemborg and Lienden, he reports Gelderland broadcast.

There is still much uncertainty about the cause of the accident. For example, it is not yet known whether the ambulance was driving with a flasher and siren and/or was engaged in an emergency run. The police have launched an investigation.
