Famous Soviet and Russian TV and radio host Igor Kirillov died on October 30 at the age of 90.

Igor Kirillov has worked in television since 1957. For more than 20 years he was the announcer of the “Time” program, also the host of the “Blue Light”, “Latest News”, “Song of the Year”, “Vzglyad” programs.

In April 1961, Kirillov announced the flight of Yuri Gagarin.

Since the late 1970s, he spoke with a New Year’s address to the Russians instead of the country’s top officials.

Igor Kirillov – People’s Artist of the USSR and RSFSR, was awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III and IV degrees, the Order of Honor, and the honorary prize of the Russian Academy of Television TEFI.
