Bayern Munich managed to beat Lazio 2-1. This result paved Die Roten’s steps to the quarter-finals Champions League with a 6-2 aggregate advantage.
Bayern host Lazio at the Allianz Arena in the second leg of the Champions League last 16, Thursday (18/3/2021) early morning Western Indonesian Time. The hosts opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through a Robert Lewandowski penalty.
Hansi Flick’s troops were then able to double their position in the 73rd minute through Eric Choupo-Moting. Lazio was only able to thin behind Marco Parolo’s goal in the 82nd minute.
The 2-1 victory brought Bayern progress to the quarter-finals. They lead 6-2 on aggregate over Lazio. Meanwhile, with the elimination of the Capital City Eagle, Italy did not have a representative in the quarter-finals.
The course of the match
Bayern continued to appear attacking from the early minutes of the match. The host tried to spread threats in the 12th minute through Leroy Sane’s action.
Stabbing from the right, Sane took off a shot from the edge of the penalty box. However, his efforts are still expanding.
Lazio tried to reply two minutes later. Luis Alberto’s cross met Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the penalty box. The header did not pose a significant threat because it was still weak, so it was right for Alexander Nubel to hug him.
Bayern dominated the match until the middle of the first half. In the 33rd minute, they were awarded a penalty.
The referee pointed to the white dot after seeing the VAR. Penalty was awarded because Vedat Muriqi pulled Leon Goretzka who tried to get the ball.

Bayern finally really doubled the position in the 73rd minute. David Alaba unleashed the through ball which freed Eric Choupo-Moting.
Choupo-Moting calmly opened fire which tricked Reina. He only needed two minutes to score after replacing Robert Lewandowski.
Lazio had left behind in the 82nd minute. Free kick, Andreas Pereira from the left side was able to be optimized by Marco Parolo. Parolo’s header rattled Alexander Nubel’s net.
There are no additional goals in the remainder of the match. The match ended with a 2-1 advantage for Bayern.
