The club’s fate hung by a thread until Thursday before it could be announced: ATSV Stadl-Paura’s compensation offer was accepted – the lower house club can continue to exist.

Around 70,000 euros have to be shelled out within two years. “I’m very relieved, the previous story is now over,” explains chairman Michael Puchinger, who, as the club’s bread and butter, also does the coaching job, washes the clothes and mows the lawn. After yesterday’s 6-0 defeat against Ampflwang, the former regional league team in the 2nd class Mitte-West still has zero points after five rounds – but for Puchinger there is no reason to despair: “Our team consists of players who have not been there for years “We were active and had previously only played in a reserve team. Then there were the boys who remained loyal to the club from the youth ranks.” But why do you even undertake such a project? “I grew up in the club, it’s simply a matter of the heart that the ATSV doesn’t die.”

If the creditors had not accepted the offer last Thursday, that is exactly what would have happened. Puchinger is optimistic that things will soon go back in the right direction. Economically we are on the right track. “With us, no player earns a single cent. There are also positive signals from any sponsors after the compensation process has been completed.”

Fusion not an issue

In terms of sport, things are set to pick up again soon: around 70 young children are now active in the club. The official does not want to think about a merger with local rivals Blau-Weiß Stadl-Paura. “For many people in town, this had already been decided because they didn’t believe that we would manage to survive and stand on our own two feet.” But things are looking very good now…
