News: Where are we with the territorial hospital project? Is the location of the technical platform determined?
Didier Lechien: Four sites were approached by a firm appointed for this purpose: Miniac-Morvan / Pleudihen, Saint-Père-Marc-en-Poulet, Zac Atalante in Saint-Jouan-des-Guerets near Aquamalo and not far from the clinic of the Emerald Coast, in Saint-Malo. I understand that the Regional Health Agency would prefer Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets. Yes, but it is not she who decides. These will be the three supervisory boards (Saint-Malo, Cancale and Dinan, which I chair). We are not at his command.
You have nothing against the fact that these proposed places are closer to Saint-Malo than to Dinan?
DL : No. This technical platform, which should be called a recourse platform, corresponds to activities already in force in Saint-Malo. This is where heart attacks and other serious cases were taken care of. There has been no resuscitation for a while in Dinan. This referral platform will represent 10% to 20% of the activities, those more invasive, of the multi-site territorial hospital formed by Saint-Malo, Cancale and Dinan (1). The remaining 80% will continue to be treated in Saint-Malo (which will have a new hospital) and in Dinan which will be the subject of € 65 million of renovation. In any case, the choice of location can only be made after the emergence of the medical project to establish a territory, hoped for at the end of the year. I wrote it to the director of the ARS. A project that must take into account patients and staff, not just the wishes of doctors. The appeal platform is not the subject of the moment.
What is it then?
DL : It means developing the hospital offer in Dinan. We want clear, precise, signed commitments: maintenance of the SMUR, emergencies, short stays, coverage of chemotherapy, etc. As long as there is no visibility on the Dinan hospital, with clear, quantified commitments and a timetable, there will be no agreement on the location of the technical platform.
Are there any disagreements?
DL : Let’s say we’re a little scalded. In the past, commitments made within the framework of the territorial hospital group have not been kept. Dinan made efforts to pool and organize and was not paid in return. We want a balance between the two sides of the territory. We are approached to host the grouping of Nursing Training Institutes (IFSI). I regret that this does not please Saint-Malo. This is not a counterpart to the discussions initiated on the future territorial hospital. It is a question of balance. I am in favor of developments, but if it is a question of transferring everything to Saint-Malo, it is no. Let us recall that there is also the clinic of the country of Rance, on the site of the hospital of Dinan, which must be taken into account.
