Didier Digard out as Nice’s head coach, offered management position

Nice has decided on the future of its coach Didier Digard.

Nice offered the scalp of OL (3-1) on Saturday evening at the Allianz Riviera as part of the 38th and final day of Ligue 1. Despite this ultimate success, the Gym is completing the 2022-2023 financial year to a disappointing ninth place and will not play in European competition next season.

The regional daily ensures that the young French technician was informed of this decision this Sunday, during an interview with Florent Ghisolfi, his sports director. The 36-year-old man, who will pass the Professional Football Coaching Certificate (BEPF) next season, has however been offered a position in the management of the Nice club, still according to the same source.

It remains to be seen what follow-up Didier Digard will wish to give to his career, he who has not been undeserved during his few months on the Nice bench, in the skin of head coach. The former defensive midfielder has led a total of 25 games, for a record of 12 wins, 8 draws and 5 defeats.

For its part, OGC Nice will therefore have to find a new head coach, in order to breathe new life into the INEOS project, which began four years ago. Several names have been mentioned in recent weeks, from Graham Potter to Régis Le Bris, via Franck Haise or Marcelo Gallardo.
